Fire Chiefs Message

Our team includes paid and volunteer personnel cross-trained in firefighting, vehicle extrication, rescue, and pre-hospital care.

Santee is my home. I’ve lived here my entire life, and serving this community has never been just a job; it’s personal. When I started as a volunteer in 1987, I never imagined I’d one day lead the department. By the grace of God, I received the knowledge to lead this department higher into the future. But what’s never changed is the reason we do this work: to protect our neighbors, support one another, and respond when people need us most. He was able to lower our insurance service office (ISO) to a 3.

I’m proud of how far this department has come from a volunteer team with limited resources to a district that’s growing, training, and investing in the future. We’re always looking for ways to improve, whether it’s upgrading equipment, educating the public, or encouraging the next generation of firefighters.

Thank you for trusting us. It’s an honor to serve as your Fire Chief."
