The Santee Fire Service District is always looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team. Whether you're looking to serve as a firefighter, help with public events, or support emergency response operations, there’s a place for you here.

Who Can Volunteer?

  • Ages 18+ (Junior Firefighter Program available for ages 14–17)
  • Must live within or near the Santee Fire District
  • No prior experience required, training is provided

  • Station & Equipment Maintenance

Volunteer Recruitment Meetings

Join us for an info session and see how you can get involved:

  • 1800 Hours
  • 2nd Tuesday of every month
  • Santee Fire Station 1 – 1005 Bass Drive, Santee, SC
  • Drill Training is held on the third Tuesday or Thursday of each month
  • The Commission Board meeting commences at 1800 hours on the first Tuesday of each month
  • Development board meetings are held once a month, and the date is chosen at the current meeting

Where is Station 1 located?

Station 1 is part of the Santee Fire Service District. You can find directions and contact information on our Contact page. If you’re visiting, we recommend calling ahead.

Is Station 1 staffed 24/7?

Station 1 is currently staffed with 12 or 24-hour shifts, including Sundays. During emergencies or high-demand situations, both paid and volunteer personnel may be assigned to Station 1 as needed.

What apparatus are housed at Station 1?

Station 1 typically supports reserve, mutual aid, and automatic aid operations. Equipment may vary depending on current deployment needs. For a full list of apparatus and vehicles across the district, visit our Apparatus page.

Can I tour Station 1?

Station tours are available by request. Contact us to schedule a visit, we’re happy to host individuals, families, schools, and community groups.

Who should I contact in an emergency?

Always call 911 in an emergency. Dispatch will direct the appropriate station. That includes Station 1, if needed, to respond based on location and urgency.
